An interesting travel book from another era, when crossing Empty Quarter was dangerous not only because of harsh nature conditions, heat, lack of water, uncharted lands and reliance on camel endurance but also because of numerous feuds among the Bedu tribes and general negative dispositions to infidel Christians stepping onto Arab lands for the first time. A fascinating insight into Bedu customs, traditions, values and way of life in 1940s.
