This book is excellent and I intend to continue it. The observation that has given me the most pause is that the function of an organization follows its form. A fully-funded subsidiary of an organization is unlikely to overhaul said organization. Since I first picked up the book, our grassroots sustainability group has become an official task force of the town. I feel a little like WhatsApp after it was acquired by Facebook - yes, our potential for bigger reach is there, but it's undeniable that we're part of a bigger organization with its own distinct vision. The question is, how best to achieve our goals, given where we are now?
