Mmm, misogyny. Part of it is just the way the main character is, but I've read a KJ Parker book after this and am inclined to think part of it's unconscious from the author.

I do like a book with economy and logistics taking more of a focus over action, and this gave me the itch to get back to Masquerade series and finish it, so thanks for that.
