The City of Dreaming Books

Iniziato un po' faticosamente, anche perché è da molto che non affrontavo un libro di 500 pagine. La città che ruota tutta attorno ai libri è popolata da citazioni costanti a libri dai nomi improbabili e biografie di personaggi morti di cui non me ne frega nulla. però poi tutto torna, non funziona solo benissimo per il world building ma i particolari si inseriscono nella storia nel modo meno atteso possibile. Un finale poi che corona tutto il discorso anticapitalista e contro l'industria che macella l'arte in cambio di soldi. Splendido, ho pianto.

I read this in the original German, so I can't speak for the quality of the translation. Most of the time, this book is funny (usually witty) but it can also sometimes get a little extra. The most solid part of this book is the world building, which is not super realistic (although consistent) but always wild and surprising.
