This is the best book cover ever. What made the book, was that she mentioned the cover. What made it even better is that the cover picture is of a real taxidermied racoon (minus the sparkles)!

It's all in the book.

You should have no regrets about life after this one. Affirming yet tough and true.

A bit of a warning, if you've ever been depressed, this book can make you touch very difficult feelings. But it's worth the struggle.

I'm sure there's more stories that could be told in the Owens' universe, but this one seems as a great end to four wonderful books.

Although tough to experience the hard living hundreds of years ago, it's great to meet the first of the Owens'.

Great characters continue the Owens' bloodline. Another book that feels like home.

With a dash of obsession thrown in.

This book must've came to me at the right time and place because I fell in love with it. It's probably just a hex put on me by the author. I'm okay with that.

The form of the book is a chapter from each of a set of triplets, one after the other, then repeat; hence 1,2,3. It's not only a different premise, it's handled very well. The three sisters have different life situations and personalities, so you get to see a few sides of some situations. But it doesn't drag; the plot moves through the siblings smoothly.

And 'Number Two' is hilarious.

I've never read any mysteries, so I thought I'd start with the best. Some reviews said this one was it. Of course, I'd heard of Christie.

I expected a great mystery, which this is. But I did not expect how great of a writer she was! The book bounces between the thoughts of 10 people right from the beginning. The repetition of their thoughts only helps to establish the setting. The rest of the book continues this way, bouncing between characters, revealing their fear and guilt. Each character different, yet in the same position. Artfully done.

The book starts out slow with a few cliches. I wasn't impressed. But that's all part of the plan; I'm glad I didn't give up.

The conceit of the story, recursion, is investigated completely and exhaustively to the point where you are completely exhausted and thrilled. Beautiful ending (It shouldn't be an epilogue though! Too necessary.).

Once the protagonist (a cybernetic enhanced human) gets moved out of her comfort, she's getting pushed around for the rest of the novel. It's action sci-fi.

A fairy tale or a myth with deep, evocative scenes through scent. If 'Perfume: The Story of a Murderer' is too intense, the dark base note in this tale is balanced by hopeful and bright top notes.
